The Hub Navigators |
Navigators serve as a go-to point of contact for students throughout their academic journey. Within 24 hours of applying to the college, new students are assigned a personal Navigator who helps them register for their first classes. Navigators eventually transition students to their faculty academic advisors, though they can always come back to The Hub for additional support.
First piloted with students in a few academic programs, an integrated advanced software system called Navigate is available to all individuals who apply to TTC. When a student goes to The Hub, Hub leaders and student workers assist them with Navigate to Success sessions, introducing them to the college and Navigate software. Afterward, the student can schedule an appointment with his or her Navigator or academic advisor. Through this personal attention and the Navigator software, students are connected to resources that help ensure that their program of study is a good fit for their goals, as well as connected to many other TTC resources that can help them on their academic journey.
With grant assistance from the U.S. Department of Education and Achieving the Dream, TTC launched this program and is now committed to its long-term support on all campuses and online for all students. Students can meet with Navigators on the Berkeley, Palmer and Mount Pleasant campuses as well.
